While disembarking from a plane? At a press conference? We may never know when she said the phrase for the first time. 

April 7th 1952, Marilyn Monroe is 26 years old. For the first time, LIFE Magazine features her of the cover. For the first time, her quote referencing N°5 is published. => The Legend of N°5 was born. 

October 1953, 882 North Doheny Drive, Beverly Hills, Photoshoot for Modern screen, Marilyn poses on her bed... Nude. In Every Image, a bottle of N°5 rests on her nightstand. The photos were never published ! 

April 1960, journalist Georges Belmont interviews Marilyn for the frensh magazine Marie Claire. She is on the set of  "Let's make love" by George Cukor Starring Yves Montand. In a moment of spontaneity, Marilyn reflects  on N°5. The passage was never published. 

October 2012, CHANEL procures the recording of this interview. For the first time, we hear Marilyn discussing those legendary drops of N°5 

-"You know they ask you questions.. Just an example : What do you wear to bed? A Pajama top? The bottom of the pajama? a nightgown? So I said CHANEL N°5! because it's the truth! And yet I don't want to say nude But.. it's the truth."
